Life: My cousin is married!!

DIY, Family, Photographers, Photography, Photos, Wedding

Remember how excited I was when I found out that my little cousin was engaged?  Their wedding has come and gone and I’m barely getting around to posting about it.  I was so giddy to see all the DIY projects that they had been working on throughout the year finally being put together.  My cousin’s wedding can only be described as beautiful and I’m sad to say that we didn’t stay to see everything lit up at night.  The wedding took place in June when my little Buttercup was about 5 months old and she was absolutely miserable.  She cried in the mass as soon as the mariachi began playing and she was bawling so much during the reception that we decided to leave early.  We missed EVERYTHING!  I know what you’re thinking first world problems but please keep in mind that my cousin is more like a brother to me and I was devastated.  We missed the first dance, the bouquet toss, the money dance, and all the fun things that come with the wedding.  With that being said I now leave you with a ton of photos I took before we left the wedding.

Did you guys catch all those DIY elements?  My cousin, his wife, and a lot of family members out did themselves with all the DIY details.  Everything that is wood is DIY from the cake stand to the centerpiece holders.  My little cousin did the leather initials in the favors and my aunts sent cookies from Mexico.  I didn’t take a photo of the invitation but they too were handmade by my twin cousins.  The veil was handmade by one of my cousin’s aunt and her friend.  If you want to see the rest of my cousin’s wedding please check out their amazing photographer Valentina Glidden.  Seriously go check out Valentina’s beautiful work.  I’m totally smitten with the photos she took of my cousin and his new wife.

Recap: Where’s the Cake?

Photographers, Wedding

Remember these? As I mentioned here the hubby and I met at Disneyland and since I worked there for almost 10 years I decided that we needed something to represent that part of our lives. I didn’t want things to be too Disney like so I went with something simple and plain.

Once we had a topper we had to decide what we were going to put it on. Since we had our reception at the Cheesecake Factory it was only fitting that we have cheesecake for our dessert instead of cake. We opted to have 1 Godiva Cheesecake, 3 Fresh Tiramisu Cheesecakes, 3 Fresh Banana Cream Cheesecake, and 35 individual size Fresh Strawberry Cheesecakes. I’m telling you I was completely in heaven with all the cheesecake too bad that I wasn’t hungry to enjoy them all.

Thanks to my MOH I was able to actually go to Disneyland and purchase a porcelain piece.

So what do you think of my cake topper? Did you have wedding cake or something different?

Some Eye Candy….

Our pictures are almost finished but while they are finalized I wanted to share with you the amazing work that our photographers do. You know my obsession with sweets and since my favorite color is purple I decided to share my favorite picture of the wedding featured before ours. (Just to clarify this is not our wedding cake.) I hope our pictures look this amazing. I bet this cake was fantastic.

I can’t contain my excitement as the day draws near when we get the call from our photographers and they utter does sweet words, “Your photos are ready!”

I love photography…

How cute is this bride with her umbrella? I just wanted to share with you these lovely photos I came across in Wedding Cabaret. You have to appreciate a happy bride with a black birdcage veil. These photos are so great. Enjoy!

I have found myself countless of times admiring the different personalities brides have and how they bring it out during their wedding photos. I hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I did.

"The camera can photograph thought."

One of the first things we did this year was book our photographer, Mike Stonis. He is part of Studio 7 Photography alongside with Miah Klein. They do such an amazing job that I wanted to share with you guys some of their work. You need to check them out because this duo has such an eye for capturing emotion.

We seriously looked at over 100 photographers websites and meet with a few of them. Our obsession with photographers led us to discover Mike and Miah. Mike had such an amazing energy to him that we left elated after our meeting with him. We are completely excited and can’t wait to reschedule our e-pics for next month.

So, did you pick the first photographer you found or did you become obsessed like we did?

Speaking of love…

Finals are over and now I can go into full wedding mode. As I sat here on my couch checking out some wedding sites. I noticed that Mrs. Meatball a weddingbee blogger had some teaser photos of her wedding.

Wow! I was completely floored when I saw them. They are like nothing I’ve ever seen. I don’t know if it is the photographer Dan Chen or if its their vibrant personalities pouring out, but these photos speak of pure emotion. They speak of love!

Nothing else for me to say but their photos reconfirmed why I am a hopeless romantic and why I believe in love above everything else.
